• When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number, country and message, so that we can answer you — plus news and updates only if you ask for them.
• Every visit: as on any website, our host receives your IP address, your browser details and the pages you open.
• Only if you agree: the analytics and advertising described below.

The cookie banner has two switches, both off until you turn them on. Decline, or simply ignore the banner, and none of this loads.

Analytics. Google Analytics and Metricool show us how the site is used — which pages people open, how long they stay and how they found us — and which campaign brought you here, for up to 90 days. Opening the contact form also looks up your country from your IP address (ipwho.is) to pre-fill the phone code.

Advertising. Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, Pinterest and Google measure our advertising and show it to people who have visited. They receive the pages you open and actions such as sending an enquiry, and can connect that to your account with them. TikTok may also receive an email address or phone number from the contact form, scrambled so it cannot be read directly.

These set cookies lasting from about 90 days to two years. You can change your mind at any time through “Manage Cookies” at the bottom of any page: switching a category off deletes its cookies here and reloads the page.

• The map in “Getting Here” comes from Google Maps, so Google receives your IP address. Switch off “External content” to stop it.
• The video tour loads from YouTube, and only when you open it.
• Booking links carry the campaign tags from the address you arrived with, so Stay In Tamarindo can see which campaign led to a booking.

Bookings and payments are handled by our property manager, Stay In Tamarindo, on their own site and under their own privacy policy. We never see card details. Enquiries are emailed to us and to them so that someone can answer you, and the guest reviews shown here come from their listing.

We do not sell your information. California law treats advertising cookies as “sharing”, so switch Advertising off to opt out. Our providers may process data in the United States, the European Union and elsewhere.

Enquiries: as long as we need to answer you and keep an ordinary record of the conversation. Analytics: up to 14 months. Server logs: about 30 days.

Write to info@casalafamilia.com to see, correct or delete your information, or to object to how we use it. You can withdraw your consent at any time through “Manage Cookies”, and you can complain to your data protection authority — in Costa Rica, PRODHAB. In the EU and UK we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising, and on our legitimate interest for answering enquiries and running the site.

This site is meant for adults planning a stay. If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date above.
